I am very blessed to be going away to a crop this weekend with some scrappy friends I've never met in person before, but have known through an online community for a long time. Sixteen My Sketch World girls are getting together and it's going to be a fantastic time!
We are doing a little ATC swap and other than make it true to your style, there were no requirements. So, this is what I made, and if you are going to be there this weekend, turn away now if you want to be surprised...
...
.... I am giving you time to look away....
For the rest of you, this is what I made:
I think it's pretty true to what I've been doing lately on my layouts. So I cranked out 14 of these in the last 2 evenings - the joys of dry time. First, I used a little knife to apply some texture medium and let it dry overnight. Meantime, I cut the grass. Not outside - that stuff is dead from the heat and lack of rain. The grass for the ATC - I trimmed the strip and then used the fringe scissors to create the grass. I used a mask and my watercolour paint on a white scrap to create a neat bubbly hot texture and added more 'heat' with that lemony yellow mist. Allow to dry... Then use a circle punch to punch out the suns.
The next night, I applied 2 tones of blue mist to the dry texture medium background. Allow to dry. Meantime, punch out 56 butterflies - 28 large and 28 small (thank goodness my punch has the small and large all in one!). I layered the large ones and added the clothespin for the body (an idea I stole admired on a card my brilliant friend Christa made). Doodled outlines and flight trails finished this multi-technique ATC.
I hope they like it!
