It's October 1st and that means another reveal for My Sketch World.
Here's the sketch Lucy created for us.
What did I do with it? Played! Big time. As soon as I saw those stars, I thought "Disney", not sure why. So I thumbed through the few remaining Disney photos, and selected this fun one of Brian and Sarah trying on Goofy themed head gear. Sarah has her finger up because Donald always tries to suggest he's number one, but that day, she was gunning for Goofy!
In a recent post, I mentioned that Scarlett Saloman has been sharing a few tips on using the goops over at the My Sketch World forum and lesson 2 went up a week or so ago. Using Scarlett's tips, I continued to dabble and play to create this layout.
My background started out by misting a few shades - yellow and aqua and then misting with some water to encourage the colours to run. You can see that some of the bleeding mists came out green, which is perfect because I wanted to pull the green from the tall hat Brian was wearing. Once the mists were dry, I spread texture medium through the harlequin patterned stencil, and then dabbed on some orange water colour paint with my finger (orange again pulls from the photo). Once that was dry, I overstamped some green stars.
This shot also shows the canvas star which I painted with watercolour paint - I love how unevenly the colour went on, giving the material tons of visual texture.
Here's a shot of the star in the upper right and you can see that I further embellished it with twine and sequins, after layering it over washi tape and punchinella.
Lots of layers and lots of smatterings is how I'd some up this layout. I had a lot of fun creating it.

Thanks for popping in! I'll be back in a few days with another fun project to share with you.
